Back in 2013, when I first started streaming, things looked very different:

My internet relied on a slow hybrid connection just to scrape together enough upload speed. I streamed in 720p at 30 FPS using CPU encoding, because that’s all my PC could handle. My camera was a €10 webcam, and my microphone? Just a basic headset. OBS was barely out of beta, with no plugins, no overlays, no alerts—everything had to be made from scratch.

There were no guides, no how-to videos, no Streamlabs.

If you wanted something, you had to build it yourself. That’s how I learned: by doing, by failing, and by figuring it out one problem at a time.

By 2016, streaming was starting to find its place. Twitch had grown, tools were slowly emerging, and I was ready for the next step.

I set out to build a dual-PC streaming setup—one for gameplay, one for streaming. But without dedicated hardware (GOXLR, Elgato, etc.), connecting both systems was a nightmare.

Audio transfer alone was a maze of analog cables, ground loops, buzzing interference, and makeshift adapters and took me 400 hours.

Still, I pushed through. While many gave up, I made it work. One PC handled the stream in high quality, the other ran games smoothly with zero performance loss.

It was a breakthrough. The work was tough—but the results were worth it. That same year, my Reddit guide on dual-PC streaming earned a Silver Award.
